- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to replace the site steam and select chilled water distribution piping located on the Gaithersburg, Maryland, campus. The requirement for the base contract is to replace the south leg chilled water piping. The contract will also include four options through fiscal year 2007 to replace the east-west chilled water connector, the east-west steam connector, the steam replacement central utility plant manhole S-02, and steam replacement manhole S-02 and S-07. Detailed specifications and drawings will be issued with the solicitation. The contract period of performance is 365 days after receipt of Notice To Proceed. The magnitude of construction is anticipated to be between $1M and $5M. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business (NAICS 234990, SIC 1629, and $27.5M). See Numbered Notes 1 and 26. Contract award will be made on the basis of the best value to the Government with price, technical and past performance factors considered. The solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizops.gov/. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about June 23, 2003 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. There is no written solicitation available, telephone requests will not be honored, and no bidders list will be maintained.
