Description
Maintenance and Logistic Command, Pacific proposes to contract the DRYDOCK & Repairs of USCGC TYBEE (WPB 1330); a 110’patrol boat, homeported in San Diego, California. All work shall be performed at the contractor’s facility, during the period of 27 August 2003 and complete 14 October 2003. A Request for Proposals (RFP), DTCG85-03-R-625512, will be issued on or about the 16 April 2003. Offerors are advised that the solicitation, specification and other notifications can also be accessed on the web at: www.eps.gov. Work items to include: production control, Gantt bar chart, appendages (underwater) preserve, internal, hull plating, underwater body inspect, hull plating, underwater body ultrasonic testing, open bridge deck renewal, spray rail and stern flap installation, tanks (dirty & waste oil) clean and inspect, propulsion shaft seal system replacement, port and starboard propulsion shaft removal and reinstallation, propulsion shaft bearing clearance check, propeller clean and inspect, exhaust flapper valve and spray ring assemblies replacement, sea strainer (all sizes) overhaul, sea valve (<=2.5 inches) renewal, sea valves (.2.5 inches) overhaul, rudder tube repairs, rudder/rudder stock removal and reinstallation, fin stabilizers (general) maintenance, aft betting ventilation, tanks (potable water) preserve, hull and structural plate renewal, temporary services, drydock accomplished. The solicitation is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. For Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
