Description
NA This Request for Information (RFI) is a market research to request answers to the following questions to determine if there is enough interest and market capabilities to go forward with the advertisement of Solicitation DACA17-03-R-0012. Questions to be a nswered under this RFI are: (1) Can you operate a cutter suction dredge for dredging rock in a channel with the restriction of no swing anchor placement outside the toe of the channel? (2) Can dredged material comprised of silt, sand, and 37 to 40% roc k be pumped approximately 12 to 15 miles for disposal? (3) If answer is YES to question 2, what equipment would be used? (4) Can 3 to 4-foot of hard coral and moderately hard rock be ripped or punched and broken-up sufficiently to be excavated by cla m shell or hydraulic excavator? (5) What is the most cost effective and environmentally compatible method for accomplishing this project? (6) How would you keep your equipment on station while dredging in sections of the channel where anchoring outside the channel is not allowed? (7) If a hydraulic cutter head dredge is used, what additional equipment might be required to allow the material to be pumped the distances described? (8) Can a Hydraulic Excavator remove in-situ rock, as described in #4, t o a depth of 37 feet?
