Description

Pacific Crest Trail Restoration - Barlow Pass to Wapinitia Pass. Restore 4.9 miles of existing trail used by hikers and horses. Restoration work includes reconstructing the trailbed, removing slough and berms, outsloping entire trailbed, reshaping and refinishing backslopes, removing protruding rocks and roots, filling ruts and troughs, construction of drain dips, barrier logs and other structures, cutting back logs, stumps and encroaching brush, reconstructing switchbacks and refinishing the entire trail tread surface. Trail will remain open during construction. Blasting wil be necessary. Work may not beging before July 15. A high standard of workmanship is required. The Government's Estimate is between $25,000 and $100,000. Bonding is required as follows - Payment or alternate form of payment protection - 100 percent. Work is expected to take place mid-July with 105 calendar day completion time. Documents will be available at this website only. Solicitation will be posted on or about June 20, 2003.
