- Description
- This requirement is being procured in accordance with Part 14 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue an Invitation for Bid for drilling and blasting in the Red Canyon Mine to produce 12", 24", and 36" nominal riprap. The mine has been worked by USBR personnel and contractors for several years. The terrain to be blasted is steep and rocky. Very little vegetation exists within the quarry. The contractor will provide all necessary drilling and blasting equipment to safely blast, and will be responsible for building or clearing roadways and work areas for equipment. All work at these sites must meet Reclamation Safety and Health Standards and may be required to meet the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977, specifically Title 30, Chapter I - Mine Safety and Health Administration, Department of Labor. The successful contractor must have a Federal or state license to perform the type of blasting, and employees must have attended formal blasting training within the last 5 years. Documentation of these requirements must be submitted with the offer for the offer to be considered responsive. The work will be performed under NAICS Code 237990. The contract will be indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery (IDIQ) and include a base year with 3 one-year options, and may be extended up to six months past the completion date (in accordance with FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services), and falls in the price range of $500,000 to $1,000,000. A site visit will be scheduled and the information provided in the solicitation. The approximate date of solicitation issuance is June 20, 2003.
