- Description
- The Marine Corps will be hosting an Industry Day on 30 June 2003, from 1200 to 1630, at the Marine Corps University at Quantico, Virginia to discuss with industry the forthcoming supply chain management (production, storage, inventory control, distribution and transportation) procurement for the new Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU) and related clothing items. We anticipate the contract will be for 8-10 years and will entail the contractor to perform the day-to-day management operations required to manufacture, store, account for, distribute, and transport uniform items to locations throughout the continental United States and overseas. The MCCUU consists of the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (blouse and trousers); Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (hat); Desert Combat Boots (Hot Weather); Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (Maternity uniform) Field Combat Hats; Limited Name Tape Embroidery and Affixing to the MCCUU. Uniforms, Field hats and Garrison hats will be required in both Desert and Woodland patterns. Companies interested in attending Industry Day are required to pre-register by notifying either Austinek@mcsc.usmc.mil or Rivoaldm@mcsc.usmc.mil by 2:00 p.m. EST, 24 June 2003. Prospective vendors are requested to limit their attendance to three participants. Each request shall include company name, point of contact, telephone number, fax number and email address. No solicitation document exists at this time but the Berry Amendment will apply when it is released. Industry Day will serve to support an exchange of ideas in order to develop the solicitation package. Questions regarding this requirement will be entertained at Industry Day; therefore, please do not submit questions prior to 30 June. Further details regarding Industry Day will be posted on the MARCORSYSCOM business opportunities website during the week of 16 June 03 at http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil
