Description
NA The proposed contract is set aside 100% for small business concerns. The planned date for the release of the solicitation is June 24, 2003. The Contractor shall provide all parts, labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to inspect, hydrostat ic test, repair and refill fire extinguishers for the United States Military Academy (USMA). Approximately 1,670 fire extinguishers will need to be tested annually. Approximately 1,000 fire extinguishers will need to be refilled annually. Types of extin guishers: CO2, Purple K, water, ABC, sodium bicarbonate. Sizes range from five (5) to fifty (50) pounds. USMA will provide the Contractor with a list of fire extinguishers to be serviced, indicating type of extinguisher, weight, serial number and servic e needed. The Contractor shall perform work in accordance with the current edition of the National Fire Protection Association Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers (NFPA 10). The Contractor shall pick up the fire extinguishers for service within five (5) calendar days of being notified by telephone by the Contract Monitor. The Contractor shall return the serviced fire extinguishers and a written report within ten (10) calendar days of pick up. The Contractor shall provide a written report for each s erviced fire extinguisher, documenting the serial number, hydrostatic test results, repairs completed, and parts replaced. The Contractor shall include the cost for pick up, return delivery and reports in the unit charge for service and testing. When the estimated cost of repairs exceeds one half the cost of a new comparable fire extinguisher, the Contractor shall not proceed with repairs unless otherwise instructed by the Contract Monitor. The Contractor shall submit an informational invoice to the Cont ract Monitor. The Contractor shall include the contract number, item number and services performed in each invoice. Period of Performance: October 1, 2003 - September 30, 2004 (base year) with three (3) option years. Hours of Work: 7:30 AM through 4:3 0 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
