Description
The US Army, Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM-MAS), anticipates soliciting a sole source (under FAR 6.302-3) for the manufacture and delivery of 120mm, Mid Range Munition (MRM) with the following schedule and quantities from Alliant Defense Electronics Systems, Inc., 13133 34th Street, North, Clearwater, FL 33762 and Raytheon, P.O. Box 11337, 1151 E. Hermans Road, Tuczon, AZ 85734-1337. System Development and Demonstration (SDD) shall start in the first quarter of FY05. Potential production quantities include 1,000 +/-20% in FY09, 2,544 rounds +/-20% in FY10, 3,840 rounds +/-20% in FY11, 8,496 +/-20% in FY12 and 8,496 +/-20% in FY13. The 120mm MRM, fired from a M256 compatible gun tube, is a 120mm smart munition for the Future Combat System Block 1 Mounted Combat System (MCS). The MRM munitions shall have the ability to defeat current and future threats as a direct fire guided munition for Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) ranges out to 12 kilometers (threshold) and 16 kilometers (objective). MRM shall have the capability to acquire and hit a target identified via laser designation of the target or through autonomous acquisition by the round. Target threats include stationary and moving Main Battle Tanks with explosive reactive armor and active protective systems (APS), light armor, self-propelled artillery and air defense artillery vehicles. Firms interested in participating in the development and production acquisition should submit demonstrated capability, at a minimum Technology Readiness Level 5 (TRL5) for each major subsystem, as defined in DOD 5000.1 and a statement adequately describing past experience in 120mm munitions development, production, testing and systems contracting. Firms should indicate in their response the level of clearance possessed. Any responsible/interested sources shall submit their qualifications and capabilities within 15 days of this notice to: Commander, US Army TACOM- ARDEC, ATTN: AMSTA-AQ-APF, Mrs. Joyce Tambini, Bldg. 9, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 or submit the information electronically to the email address shown. Information submitted should include your organization, personnel, facilities, applicable subcontractor network and past experience to meet specific needs stated above. Include company name, address, telephone number, techncial point of contact, item nomenclature, item description, and brochure/literature. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
