Description
The contractor shall provide all, labor, materials, transportation, equipment, tools, supervision, and management efforts necessary to perform cutting of vegetation for Railroads and Power lines at the Naval Weapons Station Earle, Colts Neck and Leonardo, New Jersey. This contract will be an Indefinite Quantity contract consisting of a base and four (4) option periods to be exercised by the Government if found to be in its best interest. The NAICS Code is 561730 and has a Small Business Size Standard of $5.0 million. The Invitation for Bid will be issued as 100% Small Business Set Aside. The work will consist of cutting in three general areas, along railroad, along power lines, and along Normandy Road. The Normandy Road work will require the cutting of trees and branches on the road shoulder adjacent to woodland. Cutting shall be done using methods and equipment that will not damage turf, wetlands, soil or cause damage to slopes. All cutting of trees for removal and pruning should be done using chain saws. The work along the railroad will require the cutting of RR track shoulder right-of-way, including overhanging trees and limbs. Cutting shall be done in a manner that will not disturb or damage gauge of rails, ties, track ballast, switches, etc. Equipment shall enter and exit the track lines only at locations approved by the Government Contract Representative. Bucket trucks and all cars used for pruning must be adapted to run on track rails (hi-rail). No trucks or vehicles will be allowed on track and ballast right-of-way. Power line ROW cutting work shall be done to clear the power line ROW to a width delineated in the specifications. Tree and stump removal may also be ordered under this contract. Quantities of all types of work ordered by the Contracting Officer may be less than one whole unit (mile). These orders shall be calculated in .10 (1/10th) mile sections. THIS SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The approximate solicitation release date is June 25, 2003. The solicitation will be available in electronic format only.
