- Description
- The contractor shall provide all, labor, materials, transportation, equipment, tools, supervision, and management efforts necessary to relocate evergreen trees to provide a Force Threat Protection tree barrier on the Naval Air Engineering Station, Lakehurst, New Jersey. The NAICS Code is 561730 and has a Small Business Size Standard of $5.0 million. The Invitation for Bid will be issued as 100% Small Business Set Aside. . The Force Threat Protection barrier shall be located around the active facilities of Buildings 480, 481 and 484. Other facilities are located within the area of proposed work. The method of gaining access and movement within the proposed work site shall be coordinated on a daily basis with the Contracting Officer. This contract will be a combination Firm Fixed Price/Indefinite Quantity type contract. Performance of the contract requirements shall be from September 1 through December 15, 2003 and from march 15 through June 15, 2004, with conditions permitting effort. Under the Firm Fixed Price portion of this contract, the Contractor shall relocate 1,000 evergreen trees that have an average caliper of 5 inches, from an area within 1 mile of the jobsite. Relocation shall be done in accordance with ANLA Z60.1, "Nursery planting Standards," and/or local industry standards. The contract specifications will designate the planting pattern and where the barrier shall be constructed. It shall also indicate the area from which the trees shall be removed. The Contractor shall take precautions during excavation to preclude damage to nearby structures, roadways, and utilities. The trees shall be protected during transplanting to prevent desiccation and damage. The Indefinite Quantity portion of the contract shall consist of a maximum of 250 designated pine trees ordered for relocation. Also, the Contractor shall provide, plant and establish a maximum of 150 hardwood trees if so ordered by the Contracting Officer. THIS SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.
