Description
The National Institute of Standards & Technology ha a requirement for a 150-660GHz Active-Multiplier Frequency Extender. The diode specifications are: 1) the multipliers will use only planar diodes, i.e. no whisker-contacted devices; 2) The diodes for Bands 1 & 2 must be capable of handling the full 25mW of drive power from the amplifier; 4) The diodes for Bands 3 & 4 must be capable of handling up to 5mW of drive power; 5) All diodes should be mounted in the block with positive polarity so that a single bias system can be used; 6) The diode reverse breakdown voltage should be > 5 V; and 7 The total capacitance of the diodes for Bands 3 & 4 must be less than 10fF. Band 1: 150-220GHz, Band 2: 225-330GHz, Band 3: 330-440 GHz, and Band 4: 450-660GHZ. It is the intent of the Government to award this procurement on a sole source basis under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with Virginia Diodes, Inc. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. No award will be made on the basis of requests in response to this notice. Terms & Conditions and agency level protest procedures can be found on web site http://oamweb.osec.doc.gov/conops/#REFERENCE.
