Description
The purpose of this sources sought is to provide pricing data for the following workforce requirement here at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. Performance periods for these positions are indefinite. 1 Each Materials Handler: Assembles items for shipments-selects and assembles items for shipment in accordance with standard operating procedures or specific instructions and within established time frames minimizing delays in shipment. Operates gasoline, diesel, or electric powered vehicles exclusive of forklifts, warehouse tractors, or other powered material handling equipment. Operates electric, diesel, and/or gasoline powered forklift trucks to move, stack and unstuck, and load and unload materials in and about warehouses, loading docks, on and off vehicles. Performs miscellaneous housekeeping and clean-up duties. Performs materials handling duties in a safe manner. Safeguards materials, items and equipment in assigned area. Loads and/or unloads vehicles and aircraft. Performs operator motor vehicle maintenance Due to the unique mission the employee is required to perform a wide variety of tasks traditionally performed by several individuals at varying job series. Physical effort is active, light to heavy lifting, bending, stooping, walking, pushing/pulling and standing. Requires hand/foot/eye coordination in forklift operations in addition to being able to communicate with or as a ground guide. 1 Crane Operator: Operates boom cranes using special materials handling attachments. Works in a variety of outside areas where maneuverability is restricted and accuracy is critical. Work requires operating with extreme boom lengths and angles to move large, heavy, or awkward loads that are near or at the crane?s lifting capacity. Determines correct and safe angles of boom for lifting and positioning extremely heavy, oversized, high value, delicate, irreplaceable aircraft parts. Operates crane to perform guillotine operation during the demilitarization of aircraft. May be required to provide fall protection for mechanics performing high work on extremely large aircraft. Operated various motor vehicles to provide support to branch operation as required. Performs operator maintenance on assigned vehicles including cranes. Due to the unique mission, the employee is required to perform a wide variety of tasks traditionally performed by several individuals at varying job series. Physical effort is active, light to heavy lifting, bending, stooping, walking, pushing/pulling and standing.
