Description
1. DESCRIPTION: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation on a ?Brand Name or Equal? basis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This procurement is not a small business set-aside; any responsible source may submit an offer. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quote is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation M62613-03-T-0189 is issued as a request for quote and incorporates the provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-09. The agency?s need is for 1.1 Item 0001: Qty: 1 ea LATHE to fabricate tools and metal parts in support of flight operations, Mfr: Southwestern Industries, Inc. - P/N: TRL1745S, 1.1.1 Salient Characteristics: The item in this solicitation is iden tified as "brand name or equal": Manufacturer: Southwestern Industries; Model number TRAK TRL 1745S. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that "equal " products must meet are as follows: 1.1.2 In operation, the lathe shall be "user friendly". 1.1.3 The lathe shall be able to fabricate tools such as a box-end wrench. 1.1.4 The lathe shall be able to fabricate metal parts such as bolts, screws, washers, spacer plates, and leveling blocks. 1.1.5 The lathe shall have Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) capability. This enables the operator to set the machine to fabricate a quantity of the same part. With the CNC capability, the operator shall be able to make more precise cuts and repetitive cuts without undue worry about operator error. Programs may be implemented into the machine to do exact layouts for production work and for jobs that re quire zero tolerances. 1.1.6 The lathe shall have the capability of doing manual engine lathing when necessary. 1.1.7 The bed swing shall be at least 14 inches. The cross slide travel shall be at least 8 inches. Spindle speeds: The lathe shall have a minimum of 12 spindle speeds. The maximum spindle speed shall be at least 2200RPM. 1.1.8 Power requirement: The operator's facility has this power capability: 220 volts or 440 volts. 2. SUBMITTALS: (1) One warranty in writing for ?Standard period?. (2) One of each: Operation and Installation manual 3. SHIPPING - F.O.B Destination, The destination is Defense Distribution Center San Joaquin in Tracy, CA 4. Delivery Date: Desired Delivery Date is 14 days after date of order. 5. INSTALLATION ? The contractor shall provide telephonic support (if necessary) to accomplish installation. 6. The contractor shall provide a standard commercial warranty. The contractor shall submit the text of the warranty with quote. The following FAR/DFARS provisions and clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.211-6, 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, 52.212-5 Deviation, 252.212-7001. FAR/DFARS provisions and clauses can be located at the following site: http://www.arnet.gov/far. The following clauses of DFARS 52.212-7001(b) and (c) apply: 252.225-7001, 252.225-7012, 252.225-7015, 252.227-7037. A completed copy of the following must be included with the quote: FAR 52.212-3, DFARS 252.212-7000 and DFARS 252.225-7000, 252.225-7006, 252.225-7020, 252.225-7035. The following clauses also apply: DFARS 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration. Evaluation Factor: Award will be made to the quoter with the lowest priced and technically acceptable quote. 8. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of offerors may render your offer nonresponsive and result in the rejections of same.
