Description

PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 LOCATION OF WORK A. Location of this project is Vance Air Force Base, located south of the City of Enid, Oklahoma. 1.2 SUMMARY OF WORK A. Work under this contract shall include furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to install the new Thermal Energy Storage (TES) System. B. The work of this project under the Base Bid will require the provision of labor, materials and services for the construction of a new chilled water thermal storage system to serve two (2) existing buildings, including Buildings 672 and 690 at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Oklahoma, including all sitework, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. 1) Sitework: Sitework will include clearing, excavation, compaction, rough and fine grading, including grading for erosion control, asphaltic concrete cutting and patching, and boring under existing roadway as required for the installation of new underground direct buried chilled water piping distribution systems and installation of new thermal energy storage tank. 2) Mechanical Systems: Mechanical systems will include heating, ventilating and air conditioning and plumbing systems required for the new thermal storage system. See Division 13 for work associated with the Thermal Storage Tank and Energy Management and Control Systems (EMCS). 3) Electrical Systems: Electrical systems will include new power systems required for mechanical equipment associated with the new thermal storage system. 4) Codes and Standards: All new work shall be in accordance with UBC as specified in the Uniform Building Code, 1991 Edition. Pre-Bid will be held August 6, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., Bldg. 244 Dock 4, Vance AFB, Oklahoma.
