Description
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) contemplates awarding a sole source contract to Agencourt Bioscience to provide technical support for the project entitled ?Polymorphism Discovery and Genotyping of Churchill County Specimens? related to a broad scope of the National Center for Environmental Health programs and activities. The purpose of this project is, for three genes that code for the following enzymes, aldehyde oxidase (AO), Xanthine oxidase (XO), and Sulfite oxidase (SO), to (a) design primers for exons or promter regions of interest, (b) validate the assays using several control specimens and optimized PCR conditions, and (c) when assay is approved, PCR products shall be generated by the contractor, sequenced, and assembled data given to CDC for analysis. The CDC believes that its requirements can be met by only one provider, Agencourt Bioscience, however, all responsive sources that can meet the requirements may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. Agencourt Bioscience owns proprietary software which is unique and necessary to successfully complete the work requirements for this project. The estimated performance period is four months after contract award. The solicitation will be available on or about July 1, 2003. The date specified for receipt of offers will be approximately 30 days after the solicitation issue date. Interested parties may obtain an electronic copy of the solicitation by downloading it from eps.gov. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Requests for RFP must specify RFP NO. 2003-N-00892. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
