Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to award a commercial sole source purchase order to Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, 19107, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NIEHS is conducting a study entitled "Maternofetal Microchimerism in Monozygotic Twins Discordance for Type 1 Diabetes". This study is being conducted in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University. NIEHS is to provide approx. 100 samples of DNA which will be used to determine the HLA haplotypes. Dr. Artlett of Thomas Jefferson University will develop individualized genotyping assays and then apply these assays to DNA purified from CD3+ blood cells and perform quantitative analysis of maternofetal michrochimerism. The data derived from this study will be provided to NIEHS. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 15 days of date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Thomas Jefferson University. The NAICS Code/Size is 541690/$6.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. There is no solicitation package available.
