Description
DISA-PAC has commenced an acquisition program for the Joint Hawaii Information Transfer Service (JHITS). JHITS is the replacement program for the Hawaii Information Transfer System (HITS). HITS currently provides inter and intra base switched services, dedicated transmission services, network management, and administrative operation and maintenance of a leased switch network. The scope of the JHITS will be essentially the same as the current HITS contract; however, the structure of the resultant contract and the methodology by which the successful offeror will provision services under JHITS will be significantly different than the current HITS structure. A one-day industry conference has been scheduled for 19 August 2003, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The conference will outline the major structural and methodology changes embodied in the JHITS acquisition, the impact of other DISA and Armed Forces Information Technology contracts on JHITS services, and the proposed JHITS acquisition schedule. The specific conference location has not been finalized. There will be a subsequent posting providing detailed information within the next several weeks. Interested parties are invited to reply to this announcement. This does not constitute a registration; however, it will assist the government in determining the approximate size of the required facility.
