Description

This project provides for a new reduced voltage, current limiting, solid state soft-starter to be furnished and installed to drive an 8,000 hp, 6,600 volt, 1188 rpm, 3-phase, squirrel cage induction motor. Work additionally includes removal of an existing soft-start unit. The new soft-starter will provide reduced voltage starting to limit starting torque to levels the other drive train components can withstand. Project location is Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. Notice: Change the soft starter in cat 28 - Engines, turbines and components program to soft starter cat 61 for motors and electrical components.
