Description
Scope of Contract: The contractor shall provide all necessary order buying services, labor, vehicles, supplies, bonds, permits, transportation, and any other related services for the purchase of live cattle. The contractor shall provide Order Buyer Services for the selection, purchase, and transportation of cattle for the USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Southern Plains Area (SPA) . The offeror shall provide a fixed fee for the Order Buyer services. The Order Buyer fee shall include all commissions, overhead cost, and profit. The fixed fee will be charged for every 100 pounds of gross animal weight. We will reimburse the cattle and transportation cost at the offeror?s actual cost, never exceeding current market prices. The Agricultural Research Service requires the services of a Cattle Order Buyer to acquire approximately 100 head of cattle. The Order Buyer must be currently bonded and registered with the USDA Grain Inspectors, Packers and Stock Yard Administration. Failure to meet his requirement will render the offeror as nonresponsive. Requirements are: (1) Brangus Pure bred -documentation required; (2) Female; (3) Approximately 2 years old; (4) Condition: First time bred heifers. Bred for calving ease (documentation of EPF). Pregnant for 60 to 90 days as of August 1, 2003 or calving within January 15-April 15, 2004 time frame; (5) Pregnancy tested by accredited Veterinarian; (6) Delivery to the USDA, ARS, Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center at 6883 South State Highway 23, Booneville, AR 72927-9214 between August 1 and 15, 2003 during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Each animal must be invoiced separately to include the Tag Number, weight, and sale barn/stock yards (Ranch) purchase price.
