- Description
- Solicitation number NA1341-03-Q-0371, dated April 15, 2003, is hereby amended to respond to technical questions submitted. Question: What is meant by 'Ge Detection System? Answer: The sentence should read, "All interested offerors shall provide a quote for the following" The Germanium Detection System (GE Detection) referenced was an error. Question: What are the film thicknesses required for multilayer coatings? Answer: Both layers may have similar or different thickness, somewhere between 10 nanometers to 1000 nanometers. Typically NIST will deposit a 10 nm thick Chromium layer followed by a 1000 nm thick Copper layer. Or simply 10 nm thick Aluminum layer only. Question: Is 5nM a thickness required? Answer: This represents desirable maximum cluster size of 5 nanometers (or less), which is related to minimum thickness of the coating. NIST needs to be able to make 10 nanometers thick coatings as well as 1000 nanometers thick. NIST seeks uniformity of 2 % or better in thickness over 1 inch diameter specimen. If coating is 1000 nanometers thick, deviation in the thickness should be less than +- 10 nanometers. Question: Is 10,000 A also a requirement? Answer: 10,000 Angstroms equals 1000 nanometers and is related to typical thickness of the coating. There may be a need to deposit layers thinner or thicker than that. The due date for quotes, May 26, 2003 at 3:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, remains unchanged. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (24-APR-2003). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 19-JUN-2003. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
