- Description
- This is an RFI issued by the Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (MARCORSYSCOM, PMTRASYS) to seek broad industry comments and inputs concerning the maintenance and life cycle support, to include supply support of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement-Training System (MTVR-TS). The MTVR-TS consists of Electronic Classrooms (EC), Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Operator Driver Simulators (ODS), Fundamental Skills Trainers (FST) and Maintenance Training Devices (MTD). The USMC uses the MTVR-TS to instruct students in corrective maintenance procedures for automotive, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Training is accomplished via courseware and other electronic media in both classroom settings and hands-on application. The MTVR-TS is located at Marine Corps Service Support School (MCSSS) Camp Johnson, NC and Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. The MTVR-TS at MCSSS Camp Johnson consists of six (6) networked electronic classrooms. Each classroom has one (1) Instructor Operator Station (IOS) and forty (40) Student Stations. The Fundamental Skills Trainer consists of one (1) IOS and twenty (20) workbenches. There are thirty (30) IETMS computers, and four (4) ODSs with an Instructor Station located at this site. The MTVR-TS located at the Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Leonard Wood, MO consists of two (2) sixty (60) seat ECs, twenty-four (24) fixed based ODSs, and eight (8) full motion base ODSs. Each set of four (4) ODSs has one (1) IOS. The MTDs have not been delivered. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information about the requirements enumerated above. To the extent simplifying assumptions are needed, respondents are encouraged to make and document such assumptions in their responses. Respondents must describe their company, history, experience, qualifications, capabilities, and military skill-based knowledge and lifecycle support expertise on training systems similar to the MTVR-TS. The information shall contain the company?s ability to provide maintenance (preventive, corrective and repair) and supply support for military electronic classrooms and updating electronic classroom interactive courseware. Respondents must also include recommended labor categories (i.e., technical, administrative, managerial and maintenance support) in their responses. There is no requirement for operational support. The MTVR-TS is currently maintained by FAAC, Inc. The current contract expires November 2003. The Government?s decision to release a formal Request for Proposal or continue with the current maintainer is contingent upon the quality and quantity of responses generated from this RFI. Closing date: 8 July 2003. Please respond by email or in writing. All questions, concerns and information should be addressed to SSgt Scoffield at 407 380-8484 or via email at kathrine.scoffield@navy.mil or Ms.Dixie Bishop (407) 380-4900 or via email at Dixie.Bishop@navy.mil.
