- Description
- The Department of the Treasury, Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection and Compliance Policy is issuing a request for information (RFI) concerning a proposed project that would benefit the financial services sector. The proposed project is the establishment and maintenance of a web based Financial Services Sector Exercise Coordinating Center. The purpose of this Center will be to provide to the institutions that comprise the financial services sector (i.e. banks, broker dealers, insurance companies, etc.) with a single source of exercises and best practices that promote resiliency and protection of the critical infrastructure. In addition, the Center will be used to coordinate planned exercises to ensure appropriate participation and maximize the utility for the financial services sector. As we consider this proposed project, we request the following information: 1. Please provide examples of existing web-enabled systems/content resource center to gather, vet, post, and maintain information about events of common interest to a sector or group of professionals. 2. Please describe how such systems can be used to proactively search for relevant events using automated techniques (?intelligent agent? etc.). 3. Please describe how users could submit information for potential posting to the web site. 4. Security Issues - Please describe how administrators could efficiently review potential postings against defined criteria to determine whether the information should be posted to the site. 5. Please describe how such systems have successfully struck a balance between promoting widespread use and controlling access to more sensitive information. 6. Please describe the resources, technology, and organization used to create such a site. Please describe the factors that drive these issues. 7. Please describe the resources, technology, and organization used to maintain dynamically the content of such a site. Please describe the factors that drive these issues. 8. Please submit any additional information relevant to this proposed project. Companies having the ability to furnish this technology are requested to provide written notification (including name and telephone number for a point of contact). Companies should respond with technical literature, pricing details (if possible) and the information requested above. No telephone calls will be accepted. The Department of the Treasury does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or to pay for the information solicited. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR OFFERS OR BIDS. This RFI shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately to award a contract on the basis of this RFI.
