The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and potential technical capability of small businesses to provide the requirement as outlined below. The NIH, Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine?s (DTM) primary function is to supply safe and effective blood and blood products to Clinical Center patients. In fulfilling this function, the DTM collects, processes and distributes blood and blood products for patient care (transfusions) and research. The contractor shall be responsible for providing the appropriate instruments, computer hardware, and assay software to the government so that it may perform in-house testing. Secondly, the contractor shall supply sufficient assays and reagents to conduct sample testing of 10,000 blood donations per year. The period of performance will be for a basic contract period of twelve (12) months, with options to renew for four (4) additional twelve (12) month periods. Your response to this market survey should include a narrative of your demonstrated experience in the specific area of transfusion-transmitted viruses testing related to nucleic acid amplification testing and your ability to provide the appropriate equipment and supplies that will allow the Government to perform in-house testing. This capability statement must also state business size, annual receipts (average gross revenue for the last three fiscal years, and if the firm has been approved as a small business by the Small Business Administration under the applicable NAICS Code 334516.
