- Description
- This notice is an update to the presolicitation notice for the Environmental Barrier for the MH-60S Aircraft posted on 20 May 2003. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure a quantity of three (vice two as originally posted) environmental barriers with an option to procure six additional units. The total estimated period of performance for this effort is two years. The original 20 May 2003 posting is as follows: The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-03-G-0003 with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (SAC), P.O. Box 9729 Stratford, CT 06615-9129 on an other than full and open competitive basis in order to provide non-recurring engineering efforts for the incorporation of an environmental barrier for the MH-60S aircraft. This requirement includes design, manufacture, and delivery of two Environmental Barriers and associated documentation. The Environmental Barrier is required to meet existing door requirements while protecting aircrew and aircraft components from harmful and damaging environmental conditions. The estimated period of performance for this effort is six months. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. SAC is the sole developer of the H-60 helicopter and therefore the only source possessing the proprietary data, expertise, equipment and personnel to design, develop and incorporate modifications to the MH-60S helicopter. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. See Numbered Note 22.
