- Description
- Detailed Description for Communications Systems Analyzer The use of a unique Communications Systems Analyzer will allow us to perform numerous complex functions with the same piece of equipment. This “one-box” design will be especially useful when on remote TDY’s, or where multiple pieces of heavy equipment is impractical – or impossible. This one piece of equipment will take the place of nine pieces of equipment saving valuable space on a pallet. The Communications System Analyzer must have these requirements for us to use it. Spectrum Analyzer: · Must have a Spectrum Analyzer capable of 400 KHZ to 1 GHz input. Must have a dynamic Range in the Spectrum analyzer of 60 DB. Must have a Display range of +50 DBM to – 95 DBM. RF Generator: · Must have an RF generator cable of producing signals between 400 KHz and 1 GHz with 50 Hz spacing. Must have an output between -130 dBm and 0 dBm for FM and -130 dBm and -3 DBm for Am. Also must have a stabilization time of .1 seconds. · Must have an accuracy of + or – 2dB, -80dBm to -130 dBm. Terminated RF wattmeter: · Must be able to receive inputs from 400 KHz to 1 GHz and dissipate .1watt to 125 watts for up to 1 minute. Memory: · Must be able to store up to 30 presets channels allowing quick access too frequently and preprogrammed channels. This feature also allows for scanning of set presets to monitor for noise or interference in said channels. Sweep Generator: · Must have a frequency range of 400 kHz to 1 GHz with a resolution of 50 Hz and an output of -130 dBm and 0dbm. Must be selectable up to +_ 5 MHz of the center frequency. Display: · Must have displays of AM/FM monitor, AM/FM generate, Audio Synthesizer, Spectrum Analyzer, Sweep Generator, Tracking Generator, Frequency counter, Digital voltmeter, Wattmeter, Oscilloscope, Signal Strength meter. · Must also allow for one button switching of the modes above. RF Receiver: · Must have a range of 400 kHz to 1 GHz at 50 Hz spacing. Must also have auto ranging feature included. Must also have an output impedance match of 100 ohms. AM/FM Generator: · Must be able to produce 1 kHz tone, DTMF, 20 Tone General Sequence, · Must have external BNC inputs. · Must have an Output level programmable to ± 7.95 v peak. Impedance must match 100 ohms nominal. Metering and Measurement: · Must have metering and measurement for Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Strength Indicator, Wattmeter, Oscilloscope, Digital Voltmeter, and Tracking Generator. · Must have easy one button switching between the different modes. · Must have a display with backlighting, and color for night usage. Power & Environment: · Must be able to operate with 100-130 VRMS or 200 to 260 VRMS @ 50 to 400 Hz. · Must accept DC input of 11 to 16 volts. (10A fused) · Must weigh less then 50 LBS. · Must be able to operate in temperatures 0c to +50c and be stored in temperatures of -40c to +85c.
