- The USCG Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement to procure the following equipment for testing MTU 8V 396 Marine Diesels to be used with the Kahn Model 302-280 Dynamometer. (1) Drive Shaft/Torsional Damper System, Part No. 509-301-045, to connect MTU 8V 396 marine diesels engine with the Kahn Model 302-280 dynamometer, including a Vulkan torque damper, a heavy duty universal joint drive shaft, a flywheel adapter, coupling flange adapter for the dynamometer, and all necessary hardware. In addition, provide a torsional vibration analysis. The Drive Shaft/Torsional Damper System is required to be configured for use with the current coupling guard. Mfg. Name: The Kahn Companies. Qty: 1 Each. FOB Destination delivery to USCG Engineering Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Receiving Room, Baltimore, MD 21226. NOTE: No drawings, specifications or schematics are available from this agency. Substitute part numbers are NOT acceptable, therefore, only the part numbers as indicated above will be accepted. It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole source purchase order will be issued for this item to The Kahn Companies, 885 Wells Road, Wethersfield, CT 06109. It is the Government's belief that only The Kahn Companies, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or their authorized dealers/distributors, can furnish the required parts to ensure the proper fit, form and function of all its components. NO EQUAL OR ALTENATE PART NUMBERS SHALL BE ACCEPTED. Concerns that respond to this notice must fully demonstrate the capability to accomplish the above and are to supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate a bona fide capability to meet the requirements. Quotations submitted in response to this solicitation must include: (1) item name, part number, and unit/extended price; (2) proposed delivery after receipt of order in calendar days; (3) verification that each item shall be individually preserved, packaged, marked, and shipped in accordance with best commercial practices; (4) taxpayer identification and Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS) numbers; (5) Contractors full name, address, and telephone number; and (6) Offerors must complete and submit Representations and Certifications contained at FAR Clause 52.212-3 (July 2002), entitled Offeror Representation and Certifications-Commercial Items. Offerorers may obtain full text version of this clause electronically at http://www.arnet.gov/far. Offerorers that do not have access to these certifications may request a copy from the point of contact. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS Code for this solicitation is 333319 the business size standard is 500 employees.
