Description
The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has a requirement for all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and other necessary work to Upgrade Boiler and Greenhouse. The work is located at the Avian Disease & Oncology Research Facility, E. Lansing, MI. The old laboratory building work involves demolition and asbestos abatement of an existing 6'x8' boiler, installation of a new packaged low pressure steam boiler 1,610 mbh output, including boiler controls, burner, gas train and burner control panel on new house keeping pad, reconnecting existing gas, steam, condensate and water piping to new boiler package. All work shall comply with the International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code and Plumbing Code as adopted by the State of Michigan. The work at Greenhouse Number 5 involves removal of approximately 24-yds of soil in one compartment of the Greenhouse to prepare the area for a new concrete slab, installing two new floor drains and connecting them to existing french drain system, pouring a 4" concrete slab reinforced with polypropylene fibrillated fibers over 4" compacted granular fill in a 36'-0" x 26'-9" area, and remove and replace an existing 3'-4" exterior man with a new 6'-4" double man door. The estimated cost of construction is between $25,000 and 100,000. The project must be completed 60 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. A Payment Bond shall be required. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid.
