Description: This solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about July 16, 2003 with a bid opening date of approximately 21 days following issuance. Description: CONSERVATION OF LIGHTING DEVICES within the Museum Collection of Longfellow National Historic Site, 105 Brattle Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Solicitation Number N1720030904. The work to be performed is the preparation of treatment proposals and conservation treatment of 21 lighting devices. All pieces are made of metal and date to the nineteenth century. At least four retain their original historic finishes. Eleven pieces, originally gas fixtures, are electrified. Approximately 9 of the 11 contain old, hazardous wiring. Due to the historic and interpretive importance of these pieces, conservation treatment is needed to ensure their preservation. The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition 100% set aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code for this project is 541990 with a small business size standard of $6.0 million. The contract performance period will be completed by October 31, 2004. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
