Description
The National Imagery and Mapping Agency intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis a fixed-price contract under FAR Part 12 - Commercial Items in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a), 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) with Explore Information Services, LLC, 2945 Lone Oak Drive, Suite 150, Eagan, MN, 55121-1573. Explore will provide federal license rights to the FireSafe Database. The database includes completed information on more than 47,300 Fire Stations for all 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and U.S. Virgin Islands. The database contains the following: 1) Fire Station Name, Fire Station Address; 2) Street; 3) City; 4) State; 5) Zip Code; 6) Fire Station Type (Full Time, Part Time, and Volunteer); 7) Nearest cross street when known; 8) Name of municipality served; 9) Fire department dispatcher; 10) E911 call center or other resource; 11) Data source; 12) Contact information; 13) County name; and 14) Latitude and Longitude (six decimal places). Positional accuracy has been confirmed by one of the following methods: 1) address level geocode; 2) GPS; or 3) manual verification and placement using a Geographic Information System while in contact with fire station personnel. Updating of the fire station database on at least a quarterly basis must be available using the same methodology, rigor, and error-checking extant in the original database. Data in ESRI Shape File Format is required. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No formal solicitation package is available. Vendors who believe they have this capability may respond by providing clear and convincing information that identifies their ability to meet the requirement. All responses must be in writing and should be faxed to the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, Attn: Brenda Monch, (301) 227-4793 or e-mailed to monchb@nima.mil by NLT 3:00 P.M. 11 July 2003. It is the responsibility of the sender to confirm responses via fax or internet have been received. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice.
