Description

NA The Headquarters, Military Traffic Management Command, MTMC intents to solicit and negotiate a competitive contract. This requirement is to provide the transportation service needs of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for the movement of its small package gr ound general cargo shipments including the movement of Department of Defense (DOD) freight traffic and U. S. Government shipments of foreign military sales (FMS) material. The program consists of moving small package ground general cargo shipments of a no n-expedited (routine) nature, in service from three to six (3-6) days, with no single piece exceeding 150 pounds. The Performance Work Statement (PWS) will establish regularly scheduled pickup service at two primary depot locations and at several other de pots, and provide delivery service from those locations CONUS-wide. The contract also requires In-Transit Visibility (ITV) for all packages shipped under the PWS. The solicitation will be unrestricted, open to all with a subcontracting requirement to small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 484121. This effort will be awarded as a Fixed-Price IDIQ contrac t with a one-year base period and three one-year option periods. The base period is expected to begin 1 October 03. A pre-proposal conference will be held on or about 12 Aug 03 and the solicitation is expected to be posted on or about 22 July 03 and will identify the exact date and location for the pre-proposal conference. The solicitation will be posted at the followin g website: http:/www.mtmc.army.mil, click on Business Center, then solicitation, then SSP Solicitation, look for Solicitation DAMT01-03-R-0049. Questions are due two weeks after solicitation posting. The web posting will constitute the official copies of the solicitation; no paper copies will be made available.
