- INVITATION FOR BID SYNOPSIS--Restoration - Interior and Exterior, US Courthouse, 401 N. Market, Wichita, KS. PCN = RKS23740. IFB o/a 7/22/03. Estimated Cost Range = $500,000 - $1,000,000. Time for completion=270 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Project involves but is not limited to: 1. Interior First Floor Lobby Ceiling Restoration: Removal of existing lights, cleaning and patching existing elaborate plaster ceiling, paint/glaze application by restoration artisans to match the existing approved mock-up, and provision of new lights that are to be replicated to the original light fixtures. Contractor will provide all scaffold required as well as adequate floor protection of the existing marble floor. 2. Marble Cleaning: First Floor Lobby Marble wall materials and floors are to be cleaned and polished as required after the lobby ceiling work has been completed and approved by General Services Administration. Marble floor to be restored after all work is completed and approved by General Services Administration. 3. Two Each Elevator Cab Restoration ? includes demolition of existing elevator cab finishes as required, formed metal fabrications, mirror installation, linoleum flooring, miscellaneous painting, new lighting, and electrical wiring. 4. Option 1: Bronze Cleaning and polishing of existing bronze lobby finishes. 5. Option 2: Door and Hardware Restoration. Includes door construction to replicate existing doors, finish to be stain and varnish, and provide new hardware. PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS, PLEASE NOTE: This building was built in 1932 and is currently on the National Register of Historic Places. Therefore, this project is designed in conjunction with the approval of the Kansas State Historical Society. All work herein will be in accordance with both GSA and Kansas State Historical Society?s approval and supervision. This procurement is offered on an unrestricted basis pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration program. The applicable NAICS code is 236220, size standard $28.5 million. Prior to award of the contract, the successful bidder (if a large business) will be required to submit and have GSA approve a small business subcontracting plan. Contract award will be contingent upon receipt and approval of the subcontracting plan, in accordance with Public Law 95-507, to provide the maximum practical opportunities for Small Business, Small Business owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and by Women-Owned Small Businesses. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency within the limits of this announcement. There is a 10% price evaluation factor for HubZone Small Business and 10% Price Evaluation Adjustment for Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns. No document charge is required.
