Description
The Federal Transit Administration intends to award one contract to a responsible firm to develop and maintain a web-ready international tenders list of mass transportation projects in accordance with the following Statement of Work. STATEMENT OF WORK ** International Mass Transportation Tenders List ** BACKGROUND: While at anytime there are a vast number of transit projects being undertaken worldwide, U.S. companies that provide mass transportation related goods and services are often unaware of these opportunities. They therefore miss out on export opportunities that would help improve the competitiveness of U.S. companies. An Internet accessible list of current mass transportation tenders would help inform U.S. companies about these opportunities. OBJECTIVES: To inform U.S. producers of transit goods and services of export opportunities available abroad. This helps support the international competitiveness of U.S. companies and supports the Department's and FTA's Strategic Goals of Economic Growth and Mobility. The contractor shall develop and update an Internet ready list of current mass transportation tenders. This list will be searchable by country and type of good/service. WORK TASKS TO BE PERFORMED: Task 1. Draft taxonomy: The contractor shall produce a taxonomy for the structure of the final tenders list. The taxonomy shall list the intended structure of how the tenders list will be organized in terms of types of goods and services. The COTR will have one week to provide comments. Task 2. Final taxonomy: The contractor shall incorporate the COTR's comments on the draft taxonomy to develop the final taxonomy. Task 3. Initial Research: The contractor shall gather research on current and upcoming international tenders for public transportation related goods and services. Information shall include the location, description of the tender, contact information for the tender, weblink for tender if available, and due date of tender. Task 4. Draft tenders list: The contractor shall develop a web-ready (HTML format or other format as approved by the COTR) tenders list of current international mass transportation tenders using the final taxonomy approved by the COTR and the research undertaken in Task 3. The COTR will have two weeks to provide comments. Task 5. Final tenders list: The contract shall revise the draft tenders list incorporating comments by the COTR. Task 6.
