- Description
- VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Siemens Medical Solutons USA, Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-14. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is to obtain Service Agreement Plan support for a Siemens Acuson KinetDx Ultrasound Archive System Model DS3000, located at the Department of Veterans Affairs West Los Angeles Medical Center, 11301 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90073. The procurement will specifically provide for ongoing parts, maintenance and repair support, to include proprietary software repair and updates. Selected software correction and updates shall be provided by remote connection. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed price contract for base year, with option for four (4) years beyond base year, for continuous delivery of the aforementioned services and parts. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by 4:00 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, July 18, 2003, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
