Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Optical Technology Division, has a requirement for three systems: Quantity one (1) Femtosecond Seed Laser (along with a Pump Laser) for a Regenerative Amplifier; Quantity one (1) Femtosecond/Picosecond Ti:sapphire Laser (along with pump laser)/Optical Parametric Oscillator; and Quantity one (1) Ar Ion Laser.***The Femtosecond Seed Laser will be used for generating Terahertz (THz) pulses in a new Advanced Metrology Laboratory (AML) building for doing spectroscopy of biological molecules (part of a THz Competence program).***The Femtosecond/Picosecond Ti:sapphire Laser will be used for two separate purposes. The first purpose is to irradiate an integrating sphere with widely tunable light and use the sphere to calibrate radiometers (in the SIRCUS lab). The second use will be for optical scattering from surfaces in the new AML building.***The Ar Ion Laser will be used to pump dye lasers and Ti:Sapphire lasers to do Raman spectroscopy as part of the SM3 Competence in the AML building.***Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION and shall be completed not later than January 2004.***This requirement is being procured using full & open competition.***The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500 employees.***Numbered Note 12 applies to this acquisition.***The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, RFQ amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at HTTP://WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under RFQ number SB1341-03-Q-0651.***The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about July 15, 2003, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site.***Potential quoters are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant purchase order. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
