Description
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) (formerly known as the Health Care Financing Administration) intends to negotiate with the American Public Human Services Association to continue the Medicare Information and Assistance Project (MIAP). The project will provide information and technical assistance to aid CMS and the states in administering the Medicaid program more effectively and efficiently. Specifically, the project will: identify state agency experts to staff the Federal Medicaid Technical Advisory Groups; recommend agenda items for key meetings involving CMS and the State Medicaid Directors; provide information and technical assistance to states seeking information to plan or design home and community based or other program waivers; and provide CMS with the state?s perspective on Medicaid issues to ensure informed policy development, improve policy evaluations and otherwise enhance the exchange of information between Federal and State Medicaid Officials. A significant portion of the work to be performed under the contract will involve assisting State Medicaid Agencies with implementation of a number of provisions and educating states about and/or assisting states with the implementation of several Medicaid-related Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) measures. The government anticipates a twelve (12) months period of performance. This announcement is for informational purposes only. See number Note 22.
