Description
NA The Product Manager, Sensors and Lasers (PM SEN), located at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, is seeking sources within the United States for a man-portable laser system which can provide U. S. Army Soldiers with both target location and laser designation capabiliti es. Critical Technical Requirements: 1. Total mission weight of the system, including power source: 35 lbs. or less 2. Thermal night vision capability: greater than 2.5 km for vehicle recognition. 3. Day camera: greater than 6 km for vehicle recognition. 3. Eye-safe rangefinder: greater than 10 km range. 4. Self-location determination. 5. Automatic target location calculation. 6. Digital target data export using Sensor Link Protocol. 7. Laser designation capability for U. S. DoD laser guided munitions. 8. Integral designator to target locator boresighting. 9. Ruggedized for a military environment. Schedule Requirement: Delivery of a qualified product will be required beginning December 2004. Requested Response: For those manufacturers wishing to respond, please provide the following information: 1. Technical capabilities for the system. At a minimum, include the following information under the stated conditions: a. Night recognition range to a 2.3 meter x 2.3 meter NATO standard target, 1.25 C temperature difference, 60% atmospheric transmission within band, 70% probability of recognition. b. Day recognition range to a 2.3 meter x 2.3 meter NATO standard target, 8 kilometer visibility, 60% probability of detection. c. Rangefinder range to a 2.3 meter x 2.3 meter NATO standard target, 7 kilometer visibility, 10% target reflectance within band. d. Rangefinder accuracy, target discrimination, and ranging logic employed. e. Target Location Accuracy in Circular Error Probable (CEP) at 5 kilometers. f. Laser designator output power, beam divergence, wavelength, jitter, and maximum firing rate. g. Brief description of designator to target locator boresighting technique. 2. Physical characteristics of the system. At a minimum, include the following: a. Mission-ready system weight, including power source, with list of items included in the weight. b. Weight of primary components. c. Power draw, in Watts, while operating with the thermal imager. d. Power draw, in Watts, of the laser designator. e. Power source(s) type, voltage, and capacity. f. Approximate dimensions of primary components. g. Photograph or scale drawing of system described. 3. Current production capacity for this system. 4. Earliest date qualified systems could be delivered after receipt of order. 5. Production experience with military laser systems. 6. Estimated system cost for annual quantities of 25, 50, and 100 in FY04 dollars. Please provide responses to: Product Manager Sensors and Lasers, 10170 Beach Road, Bldg 325, Attn: Paul Woodman or Jim Herndon, Ft.
