- NA This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice that TRICARE Regions 6, 7, & 8 which includes all 46 Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming are in the standardization process for the product line of: Laboratory Supplies. Items to be included in this supply line are Diagnostic Test Kits, Specimen Collection and supplies to perform the following diagnostic exams: Clinical Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Histology, Cytology, Immunology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Urinal ysis, Blood Bank, Virology, Blood Gas Analysis, and Bone Marrow Collection. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTF??????s. Addit ional TRICARE Regions may elect to join after the award. Clinical Product Teams (CPTs) will evaluate this product line. CPTs are composed of Laboratory Clinicians and personnel who have expertise and knowledge of the products. They will review and techni cally evaluate the products submitted. TRICARE Regions 6, 7, and 8 deems the CPT members to be medical experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which products are acceptable. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, prese ntation, demonstration or clinical evaluation. Companies interested in having their items evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the stated item requirements. General requirements are as follows: 1) Full product line for the end users that provide a variety of tests. 2) Ability to service all MTF's in the regions identified above with clinical support, educational programs and utilization reports. 3) Provide volume discounts and support a return goods policy. 4) The ability to provide and assist in a plan of implementation, including a conversion chart to show competitors like items. Distribution of these products for the MTFs will be accomplished through the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) ECAT program. As a result, suppliers must hold a contract in the ECAT program or be currently working on an ECAT contract with DSCP to be eligible. If your company does not currently hold an ECAT contract, you may still be eligible to participate in this standardization process for these regions by contacting the ECAT Contracting Officer, Ms. Nancy Martin at (215) 737-8708. The purpose of this notice is to seek commercial sources that will meet the U.S. Government requirements. Suppliers may be required to conduct clinical trials and provide clinical samples at no cost to the gover nment. After you have notified the Tri-Service Regional Business Office (TRBO) that your company wishes to participate, your company will be notified before the start of the standardization process for this Product Line. If the CPT recommends a company, the TRBO may request sales data to facilitate a conversion plan. This information will be treated as proprietary and not releasable. Those companies that do not reply by the above response date may be eliminated from consideration.
