Description
The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) solicit proposals for innovative, cutting edge Geospatial Intelligence concepts and products. Innovation contracts will consist of two broad categories. Category 1 will be for thesis grade scientific or technical paper(s) that will advance general or specific Geospatial Intelligence concepts, ideas, approaches and/or techniques. Category 2 will be for advanced systems, tools, software, or products that demonstrate significant value-added to Geospatial Intelligence products, data, information, knowledge, approaches and or techniques. Category 2 proposals should provide for the modification of innovative, systems, products, or services that may not have yet received consideration by NIMA or require small to modest changes to better satisfy national security or homeland security requirements. Areas of technical interests for both categories include spectrum, persistent surveillance, horizontal integration, and knowledge extraction. A Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) will be available on the NIMA web site at www.nima.mil (click on Business Opportunities). All responsible sources capable of providing innovative Geospatial Intelligence concepts and products may submit a proposal for consideration. Proposals will be submitted to the address stated in the BAA on or before 3:00 p.m., local time, Chantilly, VA, on 15 Aug 2003. A pre-solicitation conference will be held in Chantilly, VA, on 21 July from 10:30 am to noon. Registration information and pertinent details are available at www.nima.mil (click on Business Opportunities) and www.geointel.org. NIMA expects to award multiple procurement contracts valued up to a total of $1 million. Category 1 awards are anticipated to range from $10k - $50k while Category 2 awards are anticipated to range from $50 - $500k. Grants, cooperative agreements, and/or other forms of assistance will not be awarded. Selection of awardees will be announced at the Geospatial Intelligence Symposium to be held in New Orleans from 14-17 October 2007.
