- Description
- This solicitation will be issued as Unrestricted, IDTC and will be a Production Test Type Contract. The quantity is for 6,000 units minimum and 35,000 units maximum of the Armguard for Riot Control to be manufactured in accordance with CO/PD 03-14 dated 7 March 2003. Best Value Source Selection procedures will be used in this solicitation. The following evaluation factors are incorporated: Product Demonstration Models (PDM evaluations will contain testing requirements for blunt trauma protection); Past Performance, Socioeconomic Considerations, DLA Mentoring and JWOD. Two (2) one year terms options will be included in the solicitation with a minimum of 3000 units and a maximum of 35,000 units. The RFP will be issued using FOB Destination. The production leadtime on the first delivery order (minimum quantity) will begin 150 days after date of award and will consist of 4 delivery increments. Copies of this solicitation will be made available on the DLA Procurement Gateway at http://progate.daps.mil/home at time of solicitation issuance. From the Gateway homepage, select ?search RFPs? from the right hand sidebar. Then choose the RFP you wish to download. RFPs are in portable document format (PDF). In order to download and view these documents you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. This software is available free at http://www.adobe.com. In addition, to receive e-mail notification of solicitation issuance you must register with the USER PROFILE feature of the Gateway. You can now request various items from our Technical Data Repository area via this website.? Just click here and you can send in a request for specifications, CIDS, patterns, drawings or cartoons. There is a new feature on this site. Contractors can check the status of their requests. Contractors will need the control number displayed at the time of their request to check the status of their requests. Important Note on Foreign Content The Defense appropriations and authorization acts and other statutes (including what is commonly referred to as ?The Berry Amendment?) impose restrictions on the DoD?s acquisition of foreign products and services. Generally, Clothing and Textile items (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7012) and ?specialty metals? (as defined in DFARS Clause 252.225-7014) must be grown, reprocessed, reused, melted or produced in the United States, its possessions or Puerto Rico, unless one of the DFARS 225.7002-2 exceptions applies.
