Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake, CA intends to procure on a full and open competitive basis installation of fiber optic cable. The Government will issue a firm-fixed price contract using FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial items and award shall be made in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This is a Turnkey project. This project requirement consists of two direct buried armored Fiber Optic Cable (FOC) runs: a 24-count single-mode armored FOC between the communications building at Parrot Peak to the communications building at Junction Ranch (South Forty) and then a 60-count single-mode armored FOC from the communication building at Junction Ranch to the communication building at the J-90 site at China Lake, CA. The contractor shall provide all equipment, fiber optic cable, and any additional materials necessary to complete the work. All work shall be performed to best industrial standards and all fiber shall be tested before and after installation. The specific requirements for this FOC installation will be provided in the request for proposal (RFP) scheduled for release on 02 June 2003. The RFP and associated documents will be available through the 2.0 Contract Competency Homepage at <https://contracts.nawcwd.navy.mil/rfp-nawc.htm>. A site visit is scheduled for 25 June 2003, at 8:00 A.M., interested parties should contact Jackie Harrison either by email Jacqueline.Harrison@navy.mil <mailto:Jacqueline.Harrison@navy.mil> or telephone at (760) 939-4240 so that arrangements can be made for a visitor’s pass. The following information is required for all attendees, name, social security number and the company they are representing. Due to the rough terrain it is advisable that attendees have a four-wheel drive vehicle available for the site visit. Award of this requirement is anticipated in October 2003.
