Description

NA This contract requires excavating spalled shotcrete and loose rock in several areas in an 11-foot diameter circular tunnel and replacing excavated materials with shotcrete. Work will require placing approximately 500 cu ft of shotcrete in all positions i nside a circular tunnel as far as 8425 feet from the downstream portal ingress entrance. Care and diversion of water is a component of the work. There is water flowing on the invert from leaks in the tunnel that must be diverted around the areas being wo rked. There are two temporary stream crossings that must be constructed for entrance into the tunnel. There is ponding as much as 2 feet deep from approximately STA 75+40 to STA 79+00 that the Contractor must provide the means for traversing for the dura tion of the in-tunnel work. The contractor will be required to commence work within 5 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, and complete all work within 40 calendar days of commencement (time stated for completion includes final cleanup of pro ject area). This procurement is open to both small and large businesses. All interested responsible firms are invited to request a copy of the subject Invitation for Bids (IFB), in CD Rom format, at no charge, by registering on our website at https://www.nwp.usace.ar my.mil. The IFB is anticipated to be issued on or about 25 July 2003 with a tentative bid opening date of 26 Aug 2003.
