- Description
- The U.S. COAST GUARD (USCG) has a requirement to acquire training support services for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic/Wooden Boat Inspection course. The contractor shall develop and provide training support services in the inspection of the fiberglass/wooden construction techniques using the latest industry standards. The development and training shall include review of the different materials, problem areas and repair procedures associated with fiberglass reinforced plastic or wooden boats. The contractor shall furnish all facilities, materials (handouts, etc.) equipment and services necessary to fulfill the requirements of this contract and shall provide USCG certification to successful participants upon completion of the course. Emphasis shall be placed on the variety of wooden hull fasteners, methods of problem detection and examination techniques. It is estimated that (3) three (2) two-week courses of training will occur annually. The contractor shall provide training for up to (20) twenty students per class in a (2) two week course in the use of different techniques for the fabrication of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics and the construction of Wood/Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Boats. The contractor shall be tasked to provide the opportunity for Coast Guard Marine Inspectors to learn and develop their knowledge and skills to provide effective and efficient inspections of Fiber Reinforced Plastic/Wooden Vessels. This contract will be awarded based upon best value to the government and it is anticipated that the contract type will be firm-fixed price with delivery schedule to be ordered via individual task orders as required. Request for Proposal has been issued on Federal Business Opportunities www.eps.gov. The Set-Aside restriction has not been determined on this procurement under NAICS 611699.
