- Description
- The USCG MLCP, Alameda, CA., is considering a HubZone set-aside contract, for the Drydock/Repair of USCGC SPAR, a 225? buoy tender, homeport of Kodiak, AK. Work will be accomplished during the period of 4 February through 13 April 2004. Contractor will be required to provide a facility capable of drydocking the cutter and accomplishing the following (not all inclusive) work: Chain locker clean and inspect, fuel tank welds, hull plate underwater inspect, renew watertight doors and hatches, propulsion shaft bearings check clearances, controllable pitch propeller system maintenance, propeller clean and inspect, lube oil manifold repairs, sea strainers and valves overhauls, rudder stock bearings check clearance, thruster unit inspect, hydraulic chain inhaul winch level 2 inspect, anchor chains & ground tackle inspect and temporary services. The HubZone firm must meet the limitations for subcontracting requirements (FAR 51.219-4) which states ?at least 50% of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel must be expended for employees of the concern.? The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees. Firms that have been certified as a small business HUBZone by the SBA and are interested in this acquisition must submit the following information: (a) Company name and address; (b) Company?s POC, including telephone number, facsimile number and e-mail address; and (c) HubZone certification, to Rebecca Budde at rbudde@d11.uscg.mil, not later than 24 July 2003. A decision whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or not will be posted on www.eps.gov on 25 July 2003.
