Description
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to negotiate with the Altair Engineering, Inc., to provide software "HyperWorks" and user support. "HyperWorks" is used as a per/post processor for crash simulations conducted in the development and analysis of automotive safety systems including LS-DYNA finite element analysis MADYMO lumped parameter analysis. Altair's HyperWorks software also includes the necessary network software support for running 4 floating licenses across NHTSA's UNIX and PC servers. Interested firms must identify their capability to respond to the work. The written response must includ detailed information as to professional qualification and relevant expertise/specifically addressing organization/personnel experience relating to the specific requirement above. Expressions of interest without sufficient detail to permit evaluation of capabilities will not be considered. Oral expressions of interest will not be considered. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations nor is a Request-for-Quotations solicitation document currently available. It is anticipated that a Fixed-Price Simplified Acquisitions will be awarded for this effort. The period of performance is for one year from effective day of award. A determination by the Government not to compete this action, based upon responses to this notice, will be solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive simplified acquisition. In the absence of responses from interested firms demonstrating their capability, NHTSA intends to request a quotation from Altair Engineering, Inc., on a noncompetitive basis for the work described. Responses must be received by the listed procuring office within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice.
