Description
DESC: The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to extend Contract No. DCA200-98-C-0035, a firm fixed price contract, with Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc/Verestar, 387 Passaic Avenue, Suite 203, Fairfield NJ 07004-2015. on a sole source basis. The contract currently will expire on 30 November 2003, and will be extended for one year with with two one year options to extend through 30 November 2006. The purpose of this extension is to provide continuous, uninterrupted service until the program is transitioned to the Military SATCOM (MILSATCOM) system. This contract currently provides commercial satellite gateway service to Government leased C-band transponders on commercial satellites worldwide. Satellite gateway services are a combination of contractor provided antennas, equipment, facilities, and personnel necessary to receive and transmit Radio Frequency (RF) signals in the C-band spectrum and covert that signal to and from Intermediate Frequencies (IF) for modulation/demodulation by Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) installed in the commercial gateway. Circuits for digital connectivity between the commercial gateway and Government facilities is provided by the Government. Satellites and transponders may change periodically. Current connectivity is: Pacific Operating Region (POR) ? INTELSAT 702 or follow on at 177 degrees East longitude, global Transponder 85/85, full 36 MHz, West Coast Continental United States (West CONUS) ? Comstar D-4 at 76 degrees West longitude, hemi-transponder 2H, full 36MHz, 9 degrees inclination, linearly polarized, East Coast Continental United States (East CONUS) ? Comstar D-4 at 76 degrees West longitude, hemi-transponder 3H, full 36 MHz, 9 degrees inclination, linearly polarized, Atlantic Operating Region (AOR) ? INTELSAT 601 or follow on at 332.5 degrees East longitude, global Transponder 38/38, full 36 MHz; Mediterranean Operating Region (MED) -- INTELSAT 707 or follow on at 359 degrees East Longitude, East Hemi to West Hemi 21/11, partial 5 MHz, West Hemi to East Hemi 13A/23, partial 26 Mhz. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. See Numbered Note 22.
