Description

The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has recently had many Government-owned leadplanes taken out of service. Due to the rising fire activity and current pilot training, NIFC has an immediate need, on a sole-source or limited competitive basis, to dry lease five (5) new or used King Air C90Bs equipped and certified for instrument flight rules with TCAS for a minimum of 120 days or until contracts are awarded under Request for Proposal Number 49-03-08 (currently in process). A Government-Furnished F.M. radio will be provided for installation within reach of the pilot and connected to the aircraft audio system. Used aircraft must have no more than 2000 hours total flight time. The aircraft will be for the exclusive use by the Government and flown by U.S Forest Service Pilots. The Government shall provide fuel and pilots. The purpose of this notice is to determine whether or not limited competition with very short response times is viable. Interested vendors are requested to notify the Contracting Officer by no later than 12:00 pm (noon)Mountain Daylight Savings Time on July 17, 2003 of their interest, and provide the following information: vendor information, how many King Air C90Bs are available (up to 5), the date the aircraft are available for delivery, and if the aircraft are new or used (if used state the number of total flight hours).
 

Place of Performance

Address: For the purpose of the lease(s), Boise Idaho will be the Designated Base. However, the aircraft will be positioned throughout the country and physically located at various USDA Forest Service locations to best meet the needs of the Government.
