Description

The USDA, National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) intends to solicit proposals to write Chapter 8, Pumping Plants, of our National Engineering Handbook, Part 623, Irrigation. It will contain detail for the selection and design of electrical, fossil fueled, solar powered motors and pumps for the movement and delivery of water and slurries common to agricultural enterprises. The appropriate uses and limitations of each method will be provided in the publication. Information will be in sufficient detail to provide thorough project and on-farm planning and design for movement of agricultural liquids. Instructions and examples, along with basic economics will be provided in a manner that NRCS field office level personnel can easily use the document. All mathematical details and examples will be presented in dual units with US primary and metric equivalents secondary. Contractors/participants expressing an interest should submit a proposal. The solicitation will be available on or about July 14, 2003, on the FedBizOpps (FBO) website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Contractors/participants are responsible for monitoring the FBO website.
