Description
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to award on a sole source basis, under the Simplified Acquisitions Procedures a firm fixed price award to Ms. Janet L. Martin, 92252 Yorshire Drive, Saline, MI 48176. The purpose of the acquisition is to update three ACCESS practice expense databases of supplies, clinical labor and equipment. The acquisition requires extensive experience and familiarity with elements of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) and the practice expense components of the 8,000-plus CPT codes. The contractor requires extensive knowledge of the terminology used to describe the various practice expense components of clinical personnel, supplies and equipment used in the CPT codes. In addition, the contractor requires an expertise in working with, creating and manipulating ACCESS databases. Janet Martin is a pharmacist and has recently worked on a CMS contract in which she re-priced all the supplies in the PEAC database and also standardized the descriptions, units, and categories throughout the practice expense supply database. Through her experience with the re-pricing contract, Janet gained the requisite knowledge and expertise necessary to work with the practice expense ACCESS databases in the proposed task In her role as consultant to multiple medical societies, Janet is already familiar with various PEAC and RUC policies and procedures. She provides an advisory role to these societies in their development of PEAC spreadsheets for CPT codes that specify direct practice expense inputs for clinical labor, supplies, and equipment. Therefore, we believe that her expertise is crucial to the agency in completing the review, analysis, verification, and entry of data involved in these tasks in order to deliver complete and accurate databases of our direct practice expense inputs. The contractor requires a thorough knowledge and experience with ACCESS databases and the creation of new databases. He/she also needs to be familiar with various medical procedures and possess an awareness of the type of clinical labor, supplies, and equipment needed for them. All responsible sources may submit capability statements in consideration to the Agency at the above address.
