Description
NA This project is to Construct Main Gate & Access for the 118th Airlift Wing, Tennessee Air Guard Base located at 240 Knapp Blvd. Nashville, Tennessee, Project Number BKTZ942008. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, incidentals, and per form all work required to complete the project according to the Constructions Documents. The project work includes, but is not limited civil and landscape work to construct a curb and landscape island in which a guardhouse resides and the construction of the actual entry gates and brick fencing. The new approximately 240 square foot guardhouse will be basic construction of reinforced concrete spread footings, conventional concrete masonry unit foundation walls, brick veneer/concrete masonry unit back-up w alls, prefabricated light gage steel trusses, plywood deck sheathing and metal roof. Interior work of guardhouse includes wood stud/gypsum board partitions, floor, wall, ceiling finishes, and HVAC and electrical systems. Other construction elements include the construction of a vehicle inspection canopy of approximately 3700 square feet. The basic construction will be a structural steel frame open on all sides, reinforced concrete spread footings. Stone and brick will also be used as veneer for the column s. The roof system will be standing seam metal and utilize light gauge metal trusses. Canopy lighting will also be required. In addition, there will be an alternate bid item to include construction of Entry Control Devices including crash barriers and ti re shredders. Contractor is responsible to protect all existing construction and is responsible to return any damaged area to its pre-existing condition. Solicitation documents will be available o/a 1 Aug 03. To be eligible for award, a firm must be regi stered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Firms can register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the CCR Information Center at 1-888-227-2423. Prospective Bidders may register to receive solicitation documents el ectronically at www.nationalguardcontracting.org/advertisedsolicitations.asp. All solicitation documents to include plans and specifications will be issued in electronic format. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $500,000 a nd $1,000,000. Performance period will be 270 calendar days from issuance of notice to proceed. Contractors are required to identify their business size and status and must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award of t he contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this work is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. Subcontracting plans are required from large businesses. This project is unrestricted.
