Description
July 3, 2003 Statement of Work Veterans History Project - Radio Outreach Background In keeping with the Library of Congress policy of public outreach and sharing of collections, the Veterans History Project (VHP) of the American Folklife Center (AFC) at the Library of Congress is seeking to highlight its audio collections through radio outlets. The goal of the outreach is both to make the Library?s VHP collections known, and as a result attract further materials to the Veterans History Project. In particular, the Congressionally mandated VHP seeks to make the Project known to veterans and affiliated civilians throughout the country, as well as to individuals and groups interested in interviewing them. Scope The Veterans History Project is planning a radio series featuring the VHP collections. VHP has approached PRI, a prestigious radio outlet, for a possible radio presentation. Also, VHP?s founding corporate sponsor, AARP, has its own radio outlets, a natural venue for featuring VHP?s collections.
